Dr. Terri Vanderlinde
Teresa M. Vanderlinde, DO, FACOG, CSC, has recently joined this practice to offer Routine and Problem Gynecology care, and even more in-depth Counseling for Sexual Issues. Terri was born and raised in Southern Rhode Island, and attended college at Brown University, earning a degree in Biology /Psychology. She then taught Science for 2 years near Providence, before applying to Medical School in Philadelphia. While she was teaching in an all-Girls Catholic High School, she became impassioned about Health care for Women, and began volunteering at the local Planned Parenthood.
She had a great desire to bring Holistic and Patient-Centered Care to women, so applied to only Osteopathic Medical Schools to further her interest in Complementary and Alternative Medicine. She entered Med School for the sole purpose of compassionately serving women in their time of greatest need. She was an HPSP Scholarship recipient, and therefore did her Residency Training at Madigan Army Medical Center at Ft. Lewis, in Tacoma, Washington. She served 4 more years as an attending OB-GYN, in charge of residency education for Family Practice Residents and Walter Reed OB-GYN Residents at Ft. Bragg in NC. In 1997, Dr. V. moved back to her home region of New England, and joined a group Practice in Portsmouth, NH. After 5 years, she became frustrated with the pressure of seeing patients every 5 – 15 minutes, so she opened her own Solo Practice in York, ME called My Friend’s Gynecologist. This way, she could take all the time needed to address sensitive issues with her patients in 30 – 45, or even 60 minute, visits for those who required it. After 6 years in York, Terri was invited to join Journey to Wellness, an Integrative Medical Center in Dover, NH, associated with other fabulous providers, connected to the well-respected Herbal Path Natural Pharmacy. There she enjoyed 13 fulfilling years of caring for thousands of women. So after nearly 20 years of running a successful solo practice, the Covid-19 Pandemic forced her to close the doors for 2 months. This was a financially devastating blow to such a small office. While looking to avoid being bought up by a large hospital corporation, she turned to a well-respected colleague to share space, share expenses and combine their talents and treatments to help women in especially difficult situations such as Sexual Desire and Sexual Function. By joining another very small group with a totally separate Electronic Medical Record System, extremely sensitive patient charts are not shared with any large system, and remain much more secure. Dr. Vanderlinde is proud to become part of the Dr. Colene Arnold and Gynecology Associates practice in Newington. The practice has since moved to Lee, NH. She shares the same values about excellence in patient-centered care, and has done so her entire career, beginning even before Medical School. She is accepting new patients for Routine and Problem Gynecological Care, as well as offering some simple Sexual Counseling to women who have sexual pain, low desire, need help with communication, or have had prior abuse issues. She is NOT a Therapist, but a Certified AASECT Counselor, having completed a 3-year Fellowship in Sexual Medicine. She works in conjunction with patients’ mental health and pelvic floor physical therapists to help bring about positive change and creating sexual pleasure. Dr. Terri has 2 grown children living in Texas and Nebraska. Her husband is a retired Emergency Medicine physician, now doing Occupational Health Care for the Portsmouth Navy Shipyard Employees. She lives nearby in a small country home, enjoys sailing out of Portsmouth, NH and visiting her tiny hand-built log cabin in Rangeley, ME as often as possible. When not out hiking or snowshoeing in the woods of Maine and New Hampshire, she enjoys meditating much, along with other spiritual practices. She is a highly experienced, well-respected physician on the Seacoast with an impeccable reputation, an infectious smile, and great compassion in her heart. She is ready to help you with your most intimate issues. |
